Affected crops: This mollusk acts as a polyphagous pest, causing significant damage to various horticultural and agricultural crops. It is particularly problematic in nurseries, greenhouses, and ornamental gardens. It attacks young seedlings, the roots of potted plants, and various soft-tissued herbaceous plants, posing a constant threat to delicate nursery stock.

Biology and life cycle: The lifecycle of Zonitoides arboreus is strictly dictated by moisture availability and environmental temperature. These snails prefer damp, dark environments rich in organic matter. They lay their eggs in moist soil or decaying organic debris.
