Zygogramma bicolorata, commonly known as the Mexican beetle, is a species of leaf beetle belonging to the family Chrysomelidae within the order Coleoptera. This insect has gained international recognition for its role as a biocontrol agent against common ragweed (Ambrosia artemisiifolia).

The host range of Zygogramma bicolorata is highly specialized, primarily targeting species within the Ambrosia genus. By aggressively feeding on the foliage of ragweed, the beetle effectively reduces the vigor and seed production of this invasive weed, significantly mitigating its impact on agricultural ecosystems.

The life cycle consists of four distinct stages: egg, larva, pupa, and adult. The adults typically overwinter in the soil and emerge when ambient temperatures rise in the spring.
