Active ingredient

Benzoylprop

Description

Benzoylprop is a selective post-emergence herbicide belonging to the class of aminopropionic acid derivatives. It is recognized in agronomy primarily for its high efficiency in controlling specific grass weeds, most notably wild oat (Avena fatua), in cereal crop production systems.

The primary purpose of Benzoylprop is to protect wheat crops from competition with wild oat. By targeting specific physiological processes within the weed, it helps maintain crop health and yield potential, serving as a reliable tool in integrated weed management strategies for cereal farmers.

The mechanism of action involves the inhibition of cell division and growth in the meristematic tissues of susceptible weeds. Upon contact with the leaf surface, the active ingredient is absorbed and translocated to the areas of active growth, eventually causing the cessation of weed development and necrosis of the plant tissue.

Application of Benzoylprop requires careful attention to the growth stage of the target weed. Optimal results are typically achieved when the product is applied early in the season, targeting the period when the weed is most vulnerable, specifically between the three-leaf stage and the early tillering phase of development.

When handling this chemical, strict adherence to safety protocols is mandatory to ensure environmental protection and user safety.

  • Always use certified spray equipment calibrated for target application.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) during mixing and application.
  • Monitor weather conditions to prevent spray drift to non-target areas.
  • Follow local regulations regarding the disposal of chemical containers and rinse water.
