Natamycin

Natamycin, also referred to as pimaricin, is a polyene macrolide antibiotic produced by Streptomyces natalensis bacteria. In agricultural science, it is classified as a potent biological fungicide, widely utilized for its ability to suppress the growth of various pathogenic fungi and yeast species.

The primary mechanism of action involves the binding of natamycin to ergosterol, a vital sterol present in fungal cell membranes.
