Description

The mode of action for this compound involves the inhibition of the acetolactate synthase (ALS) enzyme. By blocking this essential enzyme, the herbicide effectively prevents the plant from synthesizing branched-chain amino acids, leading to a cessation of cellular division and eventual plant death.
The primary agricultural application of this herbicide is in sugar beet and fodder beet production. It is highly valued for its capability to manage various difficult-to-control broadleaf weeds, which helps ensure high crop yields and maintains competitive growth for the beets.
