Erechtites is a genus of flowering plants belonging to the Asteraceae family. In the context of agronomy, these species are often classified as opportunistic weeds that thrive in disturbed soil conditions. Because of their ability to establish quickly, they are considered invasive in many regions, frequently appearing in agricultural landscapes where land has been cleared or cultivated.

This weed is commonly found in fields, forest clearings, and disturbed urban areas. In crop production, Erechtites poses a threat to various row crops and vegetable farms. It competes aggressively for moisture, nutrients, and sunlight, often germinating at the same time as the primary crop, which puts significant pressure on the development of the cultivated plants.
