Slender sandbur

Slender sandbur (Cenchrus gracillimus Nash) is a perennial herbaceous grass belonging to the Poaceae family. Known for its resilience in harsh environments, this species is categorized as a robust grass that thrives in nutrient-poor substrates. It is closely related to other sandbur species, yet it is specifically noted for its delicate growth habit and distinct inflorescence structure.

The species originates from North America and is primarily found in subtropical and tropical regions.
