Chinese-Syrian hibiscus (Hibiscus sinosyriacus) is a deciduous flowering shrub belonging to the Malvaceae family. Closely related to the well-known Hibiscus syriacus, this species is highly valued for its large, distinctive flowers and robust growth habit. It serves as a classic ornamental choice, bringing late-summer color to gardens when most other shrubs have finished blooming.

The species originates from East Asia, specifically regions within China. Throughout its history and evolution, it has adapted to various temperate and subtropical climates. Today, it is cultivated worldwide, particularly in temperate zones where its ability to withstand seasonal changes makes it a reliable perennial for borders and ornamental hedges in public and private landscapes.

Botanically, Hibiscus sinosyriacus features sturdy, erect branches and three-lobed leaves with serrated edges. The plant can reach a height of two to four meters, depending on growing conditions and annual maintenance.
