The ancestral species originate from the humid tropical rainforests of Southeast Asia, the Philippines, and the Malay Archipelago. As epiphytic plants in their natural habitat, they have evolved to grow in the shade of tree canopies. Commercial cultivation focuses on maintaining these specific tropical conditions in greenhouse environments to ensure consistent flowering and healthy vegetative growth.
Botanically, these hybrids feature robust, woody-like stems and opposite leaves.
