Fuji cherry

Fuji cherry (Prunus incisa) is a deciduous shrub or small tree belonging to the Rosaceae family. It is distinct for its serrated leaf margins and early spring blooming period. This species is highly valued in horticulture for its compact growth habit and extreme hardiness compared to larger cherry varieties.

The native range of this plant covers the mountainous regions of Japan. It is widely cultivated in temperate regions globally as an ornamental specimen. The tree thrives in open, sunny locations that offer some protection from harsh winter winds, which can desiccate the branches and damage dormant buds.
