Button mushroom

The button mushroom (Agaricus bisporus) is the most widely cultivated edible mushroom in the world, belonging to the family Agaricaceae. Successful cultivation requires meticulous attention to the growth medium and climate parameters. The substrate must be a carefully prepared, pasteurized compost that provides the nitrogen and carbon balance necessary for mycelial colonization. Precise temperature, humidity, and CO2 levels must be maintained during both the spawn run and the subsequent pinning stages.

Key agronomic challenges involve maintaining hygiene to prevent outbreaks of pests and diseases, such as:
