The order Atractiellales comprises a unique group of fungi classified within the Basidiomycota. In agronomy, these fungi are recognized for their potential to cause disease in a variety of host plants. While many species within this group are saprotrophic, some act as plant pathogens, impacting both physiological health and crop quality by colonizing the tissues of susceptible species.

These pathogens tend to target a diverse range of agricultural and horticultural crops, including fruit trees and certain broad-leaved varieties.
