Bacterial leaf stripe, caused by the phytopathogenic bacterium Paraburkholderia andropogonis, is a significant agricultural disease affecting various monocot crops. This bacterial infection is characterized by systemic or localized damage to foliage, which can substantially impair the plant's photosynthetic capacity and overall vigor.

Sorghum is the primary host for this pathogen, although it is also known to affect corn and sugarcane. The disease persists in infected plant debris, soil, or seeds, making it a recurring challenge for farmers who do not implement rigorous sanitation and crop rotation programs in their management practices.
