In agronomy, this organism is not categorized as a plant pathogen but rather as a saprotrophic indicator. Its presence in agricultural fields is primarily linked to the decomposition of organic matter, making it a natural component of the soil ecosystem in specific environments.
The nature of this fungus is saprotrophic, meaning it feeds on dead plant debris and decaying organic material. While it does not directly attack living crops, it acts as a competitor for nutrients and space in the rhizosphere.
