Bolidophyceae are not a plant disease. They represent a class of marine heterokont algae, specifically picoplanktonic organisms found in oceanic environments. These microalgae were scientifically classified in the late 20th century and are subjects of interest in marine ecology.

These organisms do not act as pathogens for any agricultural crops. Their biological nature is strictly confined to aquatic ecosystems, where they function as primary producers. They lack the evolutionary mechanisms required to infect or parasitize terrestrial plants or horticulture crops.

There are no symptoms or signs of Bolidophyceae infestation in agriculture because they do not interact with crops, soil-borne pathogens, or farm environments. Their presence is strictly limited to marine or brackish water columns where they float as part of the plankton community.
