The causative agent status is incorrect for this organism. It lacks the biological mechanisms required to infect agricultural crops such as cereals, fruits, or vegetables. Its presence near farmland is purely incidental, often occurring on the edges of forests where it maintains a symbiotic relationship with hardwood trees like oaks. It does not produce toxins that inhibit plant growth.

There are no symptoms of disease associated with this fungus on cultivated plants. Reports attributing stunted growth or leaf spot to this mushroom are scientifically baseless.
