The Camarosporidiellaceae family comprises a group of ascomycetous fungi known for acting as plant pathogens. These fungi primarily affect the woody tissues, leaves, and stems of various agricultural and ornamental species, acting as opportunistic invaders that compromise plant health.

The disease type caused by these pathogens is characterized by tissue necrosis, stem dieback, and leaf spotting. Once the fungus enters the host through wounds or natural openings, it colonizes the vascular and cortical tissues, disrupting nutrient transport and weakening the plant's structural integrity.

Key symptoms include the development of necrotic lesions that vary in color from brown to dark grey, often accompanied by the formation of pycnidia or other reproductive fungal structures.
