Camillea is a genus of fungi within the order Xylariales that acts as a significant pathogen and wood-decaying organism. These fungi are primarily found in tropical and subtropical regions, where they colonize the branches and trunks of various woody plants, leading to severe internal structural degradation.

The causative agent is a fungus that specializes in wood decomposition. The disease is characterized as white rot, where the pathogen aggressively degrades lignin and cellulose. By invading the vascular system and heartwood, the fungus causes systemic damage, essentially compromising the mechanical stability of the host plant from the inside out.
