Development and Spread: The fungus thrives in warm and humid conditions, with optimal development occurring at temperatures between 20°C and 28°C. Humidity levels exceeding 70% facilitate the rapid production and dispersal of conidia. Spores are primarily disseminated by wind, rain splashes, and contact with contaminated irrigation water or farm equipment.

Impact and Management: The economic impact includes reduced fruit size and lower total yield due to severe defoliation. Effective management relies on an integrated approach, starting with the selection of resistant cultivars, sanitation of the growing area, and the application of fungicides to suppress fungal growth during periods of high humidity.
