Honey-colored ceriporia (Ceriporia mellita) is a type of wood-decay fungus within the Phanerochaetaceae family. In agricultural and arboricultural contexts, it is identified as a pathogen responsible for white rot in deciduous trees, often affecting those weakened by environmental stress or physical injuries.

The disease primarily causes destructive wood rot, which compromises the structural integrity of the tree. As a facultative parasite, the fungus enters the host through wounds, pruning cuts, or frost cracks, gradually breaking down the lignin and cellulose within the woody tissues of the trunk and branches.

Symptoms of the infection include the presence of characteristic fruit bodies on the bark, which appear as thin, waxy, honey-yellow crusts.
