The fungus Ceropsora weirii is a pathogenic agent responsible for a specific type of needle rust that affects various pine species. As a specialized parasite, it targets the needles of host trees, utilizing their nutrients for its reproductive cycle. The primary host for Ceropsora weirii is the white pine (Pinus strobus) and other related five-needled pine species.
