The fungus is characterized by its distinct saucer-shaped or cup-shaped fruiting bodies (apothecia) that exhibit a vivid green or blue-green color. These fruiting bodies serve as the primary indicator of the fungal mycelium presence within the host substrate and facilitate the release of spores for reproduction.
