Colletotrichum godetiae is a pathogenic fungus responsible for causing anthracnose in various botanical species. This pathogen is a significant concern in agricultural production due to its ability to infect leaves, stems, flowers, and fruits, leading to severe yield losses. As a necrotrophic fungus, it causes tissue damage and cell death in the host plant.
The host range of this organism is quite extensive. It primarily affects horticultural and fruit crops, including strawberries, raspberries, and several species of ornamental and vegetable plants.
