It is crucial to clarify for agricultural purposes that this organism is not a plant disease or a crop pathogen. It is a strictly mycorrhizal fungus that lives in mutualistic symbiosis with the roots of deciduous trees, mainly beech and oak.

Unlike parasitic fungi that cause plant diseases, this species does not invade plant tissues or produce toxic metabolites harmful to agricultural crops. It lacks the enzymatic pathways required to break down living plant tissue, meaning it poses absolutely no threat to fields, orchards, or vegetable production systems.
