The primary symptom of this disease is the development of necrotic lesions on leaves, which typically appear as small, brownish spots. As the fungus progresses, these lesions expand and may develop a halo, often resulting in premature chlorosis or necrosis of the leaf blade, which directly impacts the plant's photosynthetic surface area.
