Collared earthstar (Latin: Geastrum triplex) is a saprotrophic fungus from the Geastraceae family. It is essential to clarify that it is not a plant disease, pathogen, or pest. It survives exclusively on decaying organic matter and plays no role in the infection of crops, vegetables, or ornamental plants.
In agronomy, this species is considered a beneficial organism rather than a threat. Because it lacks the mechanisms to parasitize living plant tissue, it does not cause any form of rot, wilting, or necrotic symptoms in agriculture.
