In agricultural settings, it is often identified as a pathogen that develops on the mycelium of other fungi, particularly those causing powdery mildew or leaf spots. While it primarily exploits other fungi, it can also exacerbate the decline of weakened plant tissues, acting as an opportunistic pathogen under favorable environmental conditions.
