It is essential for agricultural professionals to note that these fungi are not plant pathogens and pose no risk to crops, orchards, or greenhouse production systems.

The biology of these organisms is specialized for survival in high-salinity water. They utilize powerful enzymatic complexes to break down woody materials submerged in ocean waters. Because they lack the mechanisms to penetrate the immune systems of terrestrial plants, they cannot infect agricultural crops or cause diseases in standard farming environments.
