Halteria (lat. Halteria) is a recognized plant disease caused by specific microscopic organisms that disrupt normal plant development. This condition is primarily observed in intensive agricultural systems and greenhouses where environmental factors often favor the proliferation of pathogenic microorganisms.

The causal agents are microscopic organisms that infect plant tissues, causing systemic physiological stress. As an infectious disease, it typically manifests when the plant's natural defense mechanisms are weakened by external stressors, such as suboptimal irrigation, poor light, or mechanical damage to root systems.

A wide variety of crops can be affected, including ornamental plants, leafy vegetables, and seedling nursery stock.
