Symptoms of the disease are visible as a distinct white or grayish fungal growth on the casing layer or the substrate. As the pathogen proliferates, it forms a dense mat that smothers the mushroom mycelium, ultimately inhibiting pinhead formation and causing yield collapse in infested areas.
