Hyaloperonospora berteroae is an obligate parasitic oomycete responsible for downy mildew, a significant fungal-like disease affecting plants of the Brassicaceae family. It is a highly specialized pathogen that relies entirely on the tissues of its host to complete its biological cycle, making it a persistent challenge in specific ecosystems.
The primary host for this pathogen is hoary alyssum (Berteroa incana).
