Jafneadelphus is a genus of fungi belonging to the Pezizales order, which can manifest as a plant pathogen in specific environmental conditions. While primarily recognized as soil-dwelling saprotrophs, these fungi are capable of opportunistic infection, targeting the root zones of various ornamental, forest, and agricultural plant species under conditions of physiological stress or environmental imbalance.
The pathogen primarily attacks the root system and the root collar area.
