Kimuromyces cerradensis is a fungal species recognized as a plant pathogen that impacts various plant species, particularly within the Cerrado biome. As a specialized parasite, it targets the vegetative tissues of its host, disrupting normal physiological functions and causing symptomatic damage to foliage and stems.
The pathogen primarily affects plants belonging to the Leguminosae family. By colonizing the intercellular spaces and penetrating cells, the fungus diverts essential nutrients, which negatively affects the host's growth, development, and reproductive capacity throughout the growing season.
