Lahmia (Latin: Lahmia) is a genus of ascomycetous fungi that acts as a plant pathogen, primarily affecting woody vegetation. Within the field of agronomy, it is recognized for causing necrosis and bark lesions that compromise the health and structural integrity of the host plant.

The disease is caused by the fungus Lahmia kunzei, which functions as a facultative parasite. It targets the plant's bark and underlying cambium layers, classifying the condition as a necrotic disease that disrupts the essential transport of water and nutrients, leading to localized tissue death.

Common symptoms of infection include the appearance of localized, sunken necrotic patches on the bark. As the disease progresses, these lesions often become cracked or fissured. Small, distinctive fruiting bodies of the fungus may emerge on the surface of the affected areas, serving as a diagnostic sign for early detection.

Environmental conditions play a critical role in the development of the pathogen.
