The pathogen thrives in environments enriched with undecayed organic debris. As a basidiomycete, it spreads through spores and mycelial growth. In agricultural settings, it is classified as a soil-borne fungus that disrupts the rhizosphere equilibrium, creating competition for nutrients and potentially invading the root zones of weakened plants.
