It lacks the mechanisms to penetrate plant cells or disrupt plant physiological processes, making it harmless to agricultural productivity.
Signs of its presence include the emergence of white to pale-pinkish mushrooms during moist conditions. The mycelium remains hidden within the substrate, consuming cellulose and lignin from decaying plant debris, which effectively aids in the nutrient cycling process within the soil.

For management in professional settings like greenhouses, standard soil aeration and the use of well-composted organic matter are sufficient to keep its population levels within natural limits.
