This disease primarily affects species of the Asteraceae family. Host plants include various garden flowers, weeds, and occasionally cultivated plants that belong to this large family. The pathogen is highly adapted to specific hosts, leading to significant physiological stress for the infected plants.
Symptoms appear as characteristic white, powdery patches on the leaves, stems, and sometimes buds.
