The host range of this pathogen includes a diverse array of vegetable, cereal, and flowering plants. It is particularly dangerous during the seedling stage, as the developing root hairs and embryonic tissues are highly susceptible to the fungal invasion, which can lead to significant stand depletion if conditions remain favorable for the fungus.
