Mycosphaerella dendroides is a fungal pathogen responsible for a specific type of leaf spot disease primarily affecting various Ficus species. This pathogen belongs to the Ascomycota division and is known for causing localized necrotic lesions on leaves, which significantly impacts the aesthetic value of ornamental Ficus plants in greenhouse or indoor environments.

The primary clinical signs of the infection are the development of small, distinct spots on the foliage. These lesions often begin as yellow or light brown marks that gradually expand and develop a darker margin. As the fungus matures, the necrotic centers of the spots may become brittle, and in humid conditions, the underside of the leaf might reveal microscopic fungal sporulation.

The fungus thrives when moisture remains on the leaf surface for extended periods.
