This phytopathogen is characterized by high aggressiveness and the ability to persist in the soil for long periods, effectively colonizing the host's vascular system.

This fungus affects a wide range of agricultural crops, including legumes (such as soybeans and chickpeas), tomatoes, cotton, and various vegetable species. The pathogen enters the plant through the root system, often exploiting micro-lesions or damage caused by pests or agricultural practices, after which it colonizes the xylem, obstructing the transport of water and nutrients throughout the plant.
