The causal agent of this disease is a fungus that employs enzymatic degradation to penetrate the host's cellular walls. Once inside, the pathogen consumes nutrients, disrupting the plant's photosynthetic capacity and water transport mechanisms. This biological activity eventually leads to necrotic lesions that compromise the structural integrity of the affected tissues.
Symptoms of an infection include the appearance of dark, localized spots on leaves and succulent stems.
