The host range of Phyllachora lactea primarily includes species within the Asteraceae family, particularly Goldenrod (Solidago). While it is often observed in wild populations, it can also manifest in managed gardens or ornamental landscapes. The pathogen is host-specific, meaning it thrives under conditions where the host plant density is high and the environment supports fungal proliferation.
