It is frequently observed in greenhouse environments and residential collections where succulents are kept in crowded conditions with limited fresh air circulation, making them prone to various opportunistic fungal pathogens.

These spots usually start as small, discolored areas that eventually turn brown or reddish-brown, often surrounded by a dark border. Control and prevention measures. Managing this fungal disease requires a combination of sanitation and chemical interventions. Recommended practices include:

  • Immediate isolation and pruning of affected leaves to remove the source of inoculum.
  • Improving ventilation and lowering ambient humidity to inhibit fungal growth.
  • Avoiding overhead watering to keep leaf surfaces dry.
  • Applying registered fungicides, such as copper-based or systemic treatments, to protect healthy tissues.
  • Sterilizing all gardening tools between uses to prevent cross-contamination.
