This type of disease primarily affects the foliage, disrupting the plant's ability to undergo photosynthesis effectively.

Host plants and damage. The disease primarily infects plants belonging to the Hymenocallis genus within the Amaryllidaceae family. The fungus targets leaf tissues, causing localized cell death. In cases of high plant density, the pathogen can spread rapidly from infected leaves to healthy ones, potentially leading to severe defoliation and weakening the overall vitality of the bulb.

Symptoms and signs. Symptoms typically appear as small, circular, or irregular spots on the leaves. Over time, these spots expand, and their centers often turn gray or beige, while the margins become dark brown or purple.
