Pseudocercospora atromarginalis is a fungal pathogen responsible for causing leaf spot disease in various Solanaceous plants. It primarily affects tomatoes and related species, causing significant damage to the foliage. This fungus belongs to the Ascomycota division and survives between seasons on crop residues, acting as a persistent threat in regions with favorable climatic conditions.

The primary symptoms manifest as irregular or angular spots on the leaves. These spots are often characterized by a distinct dark margin, which is a signature diagnostic feature of this species. As the lesions expand, the center of the spot typically turns greyish-brown due to necrotic tissue degradation. Under conditions of high humidity, a fine, olive-grey fungal growth containing conidia develops on the underside of the leaves.
