Pseudocercospora leaf spot is a fungal disease caused by the pathogen Pseudocercospora catappae. This disease specifically targets the foliage of the Indian almond tree (Terminalia catappa), causing necrotic lesions that significantly impair the plant's physiological health.

The primary host for this fungus is Terminalia catappa. While the impact is largely aesthetic in urban settings, in nursery environments or dense orchards, the infection can reduce the overall vigor and growth rate of young saplings, making them more susceptible to secondary stress factors.

Symptoms typically manifest as small, irregular to circular spots on the leaf surface. Initially appearing pale or chlorotic, these spots gradually turn dark brown or greyish-black as the fungal colony matures. Severe infections result in widespread necrosis, curling of leaf margins, and premature abscission of the foliage.
