Ramichloridium is a genus of fungi responsible for various leaf spot diseases that affect both agricultural and ornamental plants. These pathogens are classified as mitosporic fungi and are known for causing localized necrotic lesions on leaves, which significantly disrupt plant physiology.
Key crops susceptible to this disease include bananas, where Ramichloridium musae is a notable concern, as well as various grasses and perennial ornamental shrubs. The pathogen targets leaf tissues, causing damage that restricts the plant's ability to undergo efficient photosynthesis, eventually leading to yield losses.
