These pathogens primarily colonize the leaf tissues, leading to the development of necrotic lesions that interrupt the plant's physiological processes. As a specialized parasite, the fungus often relies on specific host tissues to complete its life cycle.
The host range of Rhagadolobium typically includes diverse woody plants, ornamental shrubs, and certain perennial crops. Plants located in shaded or excessively humid environments are particularly susceptible to infection. The parasite targets the leaf lamina, where it establishes colonies that eventually cause localized tissue death, negatively impacting the plant's nutrient synthesis capabilities.
