The pathogen is known for its extreme resilience due to the presence of melanin in its cell walls. While it is not typically considered a primary aggressive pathogen, its ability to form biofilms on plant tissues can obstruct photosynthesis and cause stress, potentially leading to weakened immunity in ornamental and horticultural crops.
