Sonderhenia is a genus of fungi belonging to the Dothideomycetes class, known for causing significant leaf spot diseases in various plant species. As a plant pathogen, it specifically targets the photosynthetic tissues, which can lead to severe physiological stress if left unmanaged.

The primary hosts for Sonderhenia species are often members of the Myrtaceae family, including Eucalyptus species. The fungus infects the leaves, causing localized necrosis that disrupts the plant's metabolic processes and reduces its ability to grow and produce essential nutrients.

Symptoms typically appear as spots on the leaf surface, which can vary in color and size depending on the specific host and environmental conditions.
